I think we at times, forget that the people we turn to for strength, guidance, comfort are human as well. It can be scary when we watch them fall apart emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually. When they make mistakes (perception), when their words don’t ring true for us and we then blame them for our life’s choices, instead of going within to work on our own stuff. When their bodies give out as Ram Dass, Thich Nhat Hanh, and others who publicly acknowledge their physical ailments have done. We think somehow that they will live forever, and they may in our hearts.

I think we may become cynical. The ego rises and breathes fire. We may secretly hope that they fall so our own shadow self can say, aha! There in is a place to heal, to realize, release, to find relief. In their and our own falling apart. In our own broken places we can find a wealth of golden opportunity. We can make an awakened choice to find peace, serenity, compassion, courage, and valor within ourselves.

It is always a choice, isn’t it?

Our authentic self recognizes all of this. We are given a divine opportunity to embrace illusion and set it aside. To hold our own heart gently and share this magnificence with others. We are allowing. We are choosing. We are joined together in presence. We can see that falling apart is then a myth! ~ Michele Nappi – Mystic Medium – Author
